Student Advisers

Our Student Advisers on the Student Support team are a key part of the support network at the University. They are you first point of contact for any enquiries, so that they can connect you to appropriate support from a range of student services.

Our Student Advisers can offer you information, advice and guidance on matters such as:

  • signposting to appropriate University services or teams
  • physical or mental health conditions
  • learning support issues – e.g. dyslexia, ADHD, Autism
  • GP registration and healthcare issues
  • finance and funding
  • accommodation problems
  • extensions and exceptional circumstances applications
  • Authorised Interruption of Studies or withdrawal

And any other matters which might affect your studies.

They can also signpost you to appropriate sources of support within and beyond the University.

Students Advisers are not counsellors, but they can refer you to sources of counselling support, such as the University's Student Counselling Service.

If you think you might need support in relation to your learning or personal circumstances, please contact the Student Advisers as early as possible, so that they can advise you on the best sources of support.
